The use of homeopathy and flower therapy as an aid in the treatment of climacteric symptoms: an integrative review

Climacteric is characterized as the set of symptoms that usually start in period transition from reproductive phase to female senility, and directly impacts woman's quality life. Currently, treatments approved by FDA for this pathology mainly involve use antidepressants hormone replacement, both having side effects. Clinical studies carried out 2002, showed an increased risk breast cancer, other pathologies related prolonged these drugs. The impact resulted a greater interest complementary alternative medicines (CAMs), such homeopathy flower remedies treatment climacteric symptoms. This abstract aims present integrative review on symptoms, order identify it main scientific evidence. For this, metodology consisted research databases Web Science, Google Scholar, HomeoIndex, LILACS SciELO. inclusion criteria were original human studies, totally available, published last 10 years Portuguese, English Spanish, presenting floral or homeopathic treatment. used Lachesis mutus, Belladona, Sepia officinalis, Sanguinaria canadensis Sulfur. Cherry plum, Agrimony, Gentian, Walnut, Olive Larch. findings demonstrate positive outcome trend favor effectiveness practices through evaluated, encouraging expansion new designs fully contemplate principles practices. Thus, work contributes advancement understanding each one rationalities, making source consultation health professionals future research, resulting strengthening CAMs field health.
